THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
OPEC
sells oil for $136.00 a
barrel.
OPEC
nations buy
U.S. grain at $7.00
a bushel.
Solution:
Sell grain for $136.00 a
bushel.
Can't
buy it? Tough! Eat your
oil!
Ought
to go well with a nice thick grilled filet of camel
ass

Love it! *jibs*
replyDid you ever see those rich Arab nations and the places they build and cars that they drive! Our government doesn't know how to bargain with these people. Raise the cost of stuff we export to them and see if they don't reconsider! Don't get me started on this subject, please! Double jibs!!
replyYou and I are definetly on the same page...
I love that idea! I feel the same way about crap coming in from China, too! I am tired of our politicians selling us out for the almighty buck! It's about time for another, more modern "Boston tea Party"! Jibs!! :-)
replyIt's our own fault for not producing our own vehicles powered by water, compressed air, or hydrogen. I agree with grain idea tho ;-) jibbed
replyIn my humble opinion this is just mental masturbation. Its like blaming the drug dealers for people using drugs. I do agree totally with the anger though, I just direct it where it belongs.....to the for sale politicians & corporate interests. The Diesel engine was designed to run on vegetable oil(1800's), and a few are converting old cars & running them off of restaurant waste now. The big 3 car companies colluded to kill the electric car concept in the 70's and solar power was bludgeoned by special interests so badly its just now making a huge comeback. The list goes on and on. I say we have not arrived at an "inevitable" point in capitalism but we have been delivered there by the representatives elected to ensure our future prosperity and have only acted in self or "special" interest. Was it Marx who once said something about capitalists buying their own noose from their enemies? Let us pray he was wrong!
replyYou are totally accurate; prior to ww2, most major cities had electric trolley systems, and the auto makers, oil co's and tire co's conspired to "derail"them to foster the internal combustion engine. What's weirder still, is several oil concerns were drilling in the arabian gulf. They had all but given up finding oil deposits, when they hit pay dirt in 1937.
I love the idea! double jibs! Let's write of senators and congressman.
