Description:
Political campaign song for Barack Obama.(Karaoke style). Music is from the song "Blues in the Night" (My mama done told me), music by Harold Arlen, original lyrics by Johnny Mercer. The subtitles go pretty fast, so here are my lyrics.
Obama done told us
When he was campaigning
Obama done told us, Folks
You gotta believe me
You gotta work with me
So we can get enough votes
Our government's broken
It needs to be fixed, and we can bring change
We can, yes we can
Critics say that I'm naive
As to how I can achieve
Real Change (Obama done told us)
Am I raising hopes too high?
Is this just pie-in-the-sky?
Is It? (Obama done asked us)
Well I am audacious
To hope that we can change things around
We can, yes we can
Watch as special interests
Try to stop us as they
See their power slip
When we preach bi-partisanship
Fat-cat do-nors think that they a-lone can
Sing the campaign song
My-chorus of small donors
Proves them wrong
From Vegas to Des Moines
From Memphis to St. Paul
Wherever my campaign's gone
I've been in some big towns
I've talked to some big crowds
One thing I stress above all
Our government's broken
And we'll get it fixed, and yes we can change
The way things are done
Obama was right, we can, yes we can

Regardless of your choice of candidates, the piano was very good, right out of the Cotton Club.
replyThank you. My son Daniel is an aspiring pianist. If he had practiced the music more than once, he might have been able to avoid the couple of "off" notes, but he was in a hurry to get back to his life as a student in the College of Music at Michigan State University.
