If
you want someone who will eat whatever you put in front of him and
never say its not quite as good as his mother made
it
then buy a
dog. If
you want someone always willing to go out, at any hour, for as long
and wherever you want
then buy a dog.
. If
you want someone who will never touch the remote, doesn't care
about football, and can sit next to you as you watch romantic
movies then buy a
dog. If
you want someone who is content to get up on your bed just to warm
your feet and whom you can push off if he snores ......
then buy a dog
!
If
you want someone who never criticizes what you do, doesn't care if
you are pretty or ugly, fat or thin, young or old, who acts as if
every word you say is especially worthy of listening to, and loves
you unconditionally, perpetually then buy a dog. BUT,
on the other hand, if you want someone who will never come when you
call, ignores you totally when you come home , leaves hair all over
the place, walks all over you, runs around all night and only comes
home to eat and sleep, and acts as if your entire existence is
solely to ensure his happiness.............
then buy a
cat!
Now
be honest, you thought I was going to say....then marry a
man.
wow!... that cat kind of reminds me of my guy.... except change the Pepsi to a beer, and for some reason we have 3 remotes, and his hands and feet aren't quite that hairy. heehee... hope he never sees that! ;-)
Defense attorney- While I like both dogs and cats:
If you want someone who:
1) will utterly destroy the carpet before safely "paper trained"
2) Wakes up the neighborhood simply because someone walks down the street
3) Tears up the house with the efficiency of Hurricane Katrina if you decide to go away for the day without him
[I was a witness to such an occurance with an otherwise splended Boxer...}
4) Doesn't get along with other animals
5) Must be involved 100% of the time
6) Can have an ornery streak that defies description
7) Not all but many will ride your leg unless thoroughly discouraged from that nasty habit
Then buy a Dog!! BUT:
If you want a generally QUIET companion, who has an inborn sense of toilet, WILL use a scratching post for claw maintenance Not the couch or table legs, has never been put on a "dangerous list" for attacking passersby, can be safely left alone with sufficient food & water for the day or overnight, and [personal experience with many felines] will sense your mood and
display affection when you're sad or depressed, but due to their (why some hate them) independence, will leave you be the rest of the time, Then by all means buy a Cat!!!!!
