Description:
In this funny cartoon, an honest factory worker learns the truth about his favorite department store: that there's a very high cost for everyday low prices. Namely, unemployment!

Walmart is truly evil. I can't believe our government actually subsidizes a business like that. Many of their employees have to go on welfare. Talk about keeping the poor, poor and making the rich, richer.

I work at a mom-and-pop hardware store. A Supercenter just arrived, and our sales this last month are up 20%! This is because Wal-Mart sells crap, and it takes 30 minutes plus to get through. People come to our store and grab a nut or bolt, and get out in under a minute! Thank you Wal-Mart!

Capitalism is the idea that people with money can benefit society by investing it rather than hording it. I fail to see how this wonderful cartoon has anything to do with capitalism. The message is about consumerism, which is a much different animal--best understood as the modern version of the "bread" in Caesar's "bread and circuses" method of controlling the ignorant masses (Faux News and the rest of the mainstream media being the "circuses").

If you are a middle or poor class American CITZEN, you should be scared to death. Mao Te Sung said in the 60ts that THEY would conquer America from within without ever firing the 1st shot. Now the ULTRA RICH have gave away the U.S.A. in the name of the all mighty dollar. " BEWARE ULTRA RICH; THEIR GOING TO TAKE IT AWAY FROM YOU OR YOUR CHILDREN ! Wal-mart based on size
Target based on the color of the cart
Best Buy since its a Big-Box mart with 2 b's
but since the letter is seen, it could be K-mart
now what does Jib-Jab have to think about modern day Grocery stores?

As far as I could tell, it was referring to Big Lots. The red carts, similar signs and type of items available... Strange that the store started out as Pic 'n Save, became MacFrugal's and turned into Big Lots. I've always wondered if they were still the same company or if the first two somehow didn't make it even though the whole world was there.
